The 44th Ryder Cup
Aon VIP Programming + Hospitality

During the 44th Ryder Cup— I led the design and production of high-level print items for VIP Clients attending the event. I also designed the interior walls of the on-course Fan Activation.

DESIGN GOAL

Grow Aon brand awareness and association at the 44th Ryder Cup along with strengthening current client relationships through VIP Programming.

OVERVIEW

Golfers from Europe and the US duke it out during the Ryder Cup, a team-based golf tournament that takes place every other year. Aon, a sponsor of the event, invited over 100 clients from 10 different countries to not only experience the event but also participate in high level programming. Aon also hoped to expand brand and name recognition through the on course public activation.

CREATING CLIENT IMPACT

I developed the aesthetic and operational aspects of the Aon RC Welcome Packet. This included management of print asset variations across (4) distinct waves of Aon guest profiles. Additionally, I helped find ways to integrate premium elements into the welcome packets, such as vellum overlays, gold foil detailing, and embossed finishes. Finally, I was responsible for the preparation of print-ready files to be shared with vendors.

BUILDING BRAND AWARENESS

I worked with the Aon account team to design the walls of the Aon Fan Activation, a 30 x 30ft tent in the center of the Marco Simone Golf Course. The clients goal was to create a museum-like experience to walk the attendees through the creation of the Aon Award – the Nicklaus-Jacklin award.

My responsibilities included the scaling of imagery for print, systematic folder organization for the vendor, and the creation of user-friendly mockups for the account team across (7) iterations of wall updates.

PROCESS

I built out the flat wall art while keeping TV and light installation in mind. The photos to the left show both the final art file and the wall preview.
